Mindfulness meditation has in recent years become extremely popularised in the public sphere, but what is it like to be inside the head of somebody meditating? How can the medium of film be used to try and convey this embodied and often ineffable experience? Sitting Still is an experimental essay film which attempts to situate the viewer from the perspective of a meditator, exploring the concept of mindfulness through the interior monologue of one woman. Throughout, we are taken on a journey through the mind and its relationship to thoughts, memory and identity.
